I did my best impression of a socially happy person for the holidays, and I could have won an Oscar the following day (aka today).

Everything from my shoulders down hurts. Not aches, but hurts. A significant amount. Maybe doing 3 load of laundry one day after an extremely intense physio session, and then get the beast bird (aka 7kg turkey) roasted to perfection the following day. Fun part was about 3 hours in wooden slat chairs.

Now Wing wants us to go out on a shopping trip? I am going to be a human puddle of pain by end of day. For during the day, I will use pain meds to suppress it for a while. I will be a reasonable facsimile of a human being. Just don't bump too hard, or I might shatter.

Have I ever mentioned that the older I get, the less I like the holidays? It's not the years, and it's not even the mileage... it's the fender benders along the way.

All I want to do is pull December over my head, and not come out until the 2nd week in January. My left knee is still screwed up, but at least the nerve pain is gone.

The 'kittens' have really adapted to being domestic moggies, instead of feral strays. Still flinch a bit when you go to pet them, and Trance is still being a bully.

*sigh*

I'm trying to get into it, I really am. But it's more stressful than cheerful. I miss being around family. I know I have Wing and Alan here, but there's Paul and the children, my cousin Mark, Marilyn and Rob... I miss my Aunt Elnore, and Uncle Al.

I probably wouldn't be feeling as bummed out if things had gone differently this year, but for me, I can't wait until it's back to business as usual. And business wasn't so great, but there wasn't all this saccharine smiling going on all the time.

I ordered a 'surprise' holiday gift for our household, and the merchant, instead of packing the two items in a box, as they had done prior, they shipped them in their store shelf boxes. Surprise blown, as the person it was for was the one that accepted delivery.

I filled out their online form, and they replied with long schpiel about how quality of service is their priority. Then asked this:

> For our records, could you please provide photos showing the product's packaging?

I replied "What packaging? The items were shipped in their store shelf boxes, rather battered, with shipping labels slapped onto them."

She is somewhat of a loner, and life hasn't been all that kind to her. I spotted her wish list on Amazon dot Com. I'm very tempted to make Giftmuss a good one for her.

She'll get mad, or think I want something from her (which I don't). I just want her to have something to smile about for a change.

What I'm grateful for is that the cold I caught from Wing really didn't hit me until after we got home from Hamilton Island.

Been going through the photos taken while on the island. Culling those that are duplicates or near duplicates, ones where the speedlite hadn't cycled, and ones I just don't like, or didn't come out as I had hoped, and I still have close to 100 'good ones'. And I still haven't gone through them all yet, but I did upload about 80 of them to my Flickr account. Go me. Now, me go nap. Zzzzzzzz

Wing and I are taking a trip up to Broome. One reason, it's beautiful there, and another it will give us time to relax (and for me to heal up a bit more)

For those not in the know (aka not from Australia), Broome is a touristy sort of place, well known for Pearls and pearl diving.

So, I shall be absent again, not that I have been around much due to physical issues at this time. Caversham day trip almost wiped me out. Just went to show how drained I really am. I need the sun and warmth. Will do me a world of good

Last night was good. Was nice, although a bit tense (due to her being anxious) it was good to have Wing's mom there with all of us.

Small lesson learned: no matter how tired, or how late we get home, the pool gets covered. I ended up spending about 2 hrs skimming the leaves/blossoms/twigs off the top, vacuuming the bottom, and cleaning out the water filters/pumps.

Loki almost ceased to exist this morning. After getting to bed at 1am, being woken up by persistent 9 kilo (20lb) of cat at 5am.. no. I ended out passing out around 6pm, although I didn't want to. Managed to get up in less than an hour. So now, I'm dog tired. Gonna drag my sorry self to bed. Night all!

Happy Chinese New Year! It's the year of the Ox. Luck to those born that year. Had a pleasant evening with Delicious Irony, Discordia13 and Bunny-M . Yes, Bunny, you were ill, but you company was still appreciated and enjoyed.

Starting the celebration off with a BANG!
