I ordered a 'surprise' holiday gift for our household, and the merchant, instead of packing the two items in a box, as they had done prior, they shipped them in their store shelf boxes. Surprise blown, as the person it was for was the one that accepted delivery.

I filled out their online form, and they replied with long schpiel about how quality of service is their priority. Then asked this:

> For our records, could you please provide photos showing the product's packaging?

I replied "What packaging? The items were shipped in their store shelf boxes, rather battered, with shipping labels slapped onto them."

Bizarreness

I use Brita Faucet filters, the older version and the filters are getting harder and harder to come by. I managed to find some on eBay but the postage for just two of them was more than the filters were ($41 for the filters, $44 to ship them).

So, headed over to Amazon. This is where the bizarreness comes in. The more expensive seller ships to Australia. $60 for 2 filters + $27 shipping.

I spotted less expensive ones, 2 for $21... but that seller doesn't ship to Australia. So, I order two twin packs, for $42, + $8 shipping to be sent to my drop address. Another $25 to forward them to me from there.

Twice the number for less than the cost of two. Makes me wonder when Amazon will stop shooting themselves in the foot.

The first time I got a rather crushed parcel from you, I chalked it up to poor shipping and handling, or maybe because of your having to inspect the goods. I've gotten three shipments from your service in crushed boxes, two of which the goods were damaged.

I blamed Amazon for the last one, which arrived in pretty bad condition, crushed, packing padding deflated, the books inside damaged. Amazon sent me a replacement of one of the books. The box and book arrived in PERFECT condition. No dings, no dents, no crushing, book in pristine condition, the box looking as if it just came off the show room floor. This leads me to believe your handling of the incoming parcels is way less than adequate. And it's not a matter of them having to be opened to inspect the contents. It's major mishandling, flat out carelessness on the part of the person handling it.

I have another parcel headed to my box, there. If this one arrives to me in a similarly damaged state, I will be looking for an alternate drop mail service.
