In my grandmother's kitchen:

Be careful of the words you say
Make them soft and sweet.
You never know from day to day
Which ones you'll have to eat.

Now, while I don't suffer fools gladly, I'm pretty decent about honest mistakes and miscues.

I emailed Mark about the work and money needed to repair the cat enclosure. I was polite about it, but I was firm about it, and backed up my issues with facts. He immediately offered to transfer the $200 back to our bank. Wing liked this idea of mine better. I called Mark and suggested this: work up an estimate for putting in a soakwell, and credit us the $200 on the job. He was amenable. :)

Today, I got my digital photography magazine in the mail. I went to the photo comp section only to find out I had received my magazine 2 days after the deadline. I emailed the company, telling the politely yet firmly that first it was my Feb/March issue that never arrived, and now my April/May issue arrived late, and this just will not do. After sending, I called the company too I explained the situation, told him what page it was on, my subscriber ID. I got apologies, a waiver on the deadline, and my photo was accepted.

So, politeness does still work. :)

Since I have been having a problem getting the magazine shipped to me anywhere near the time they were supposed to mailed to me, I had actually called the publisher concerning this. Now, I get them mailed in an addressed envelope instead of the typical plastic sheath.

The cover sports Harrison Ford, and I have to say he looks pretty damned good for an ol' geezer. :D Lots of info about the new Indiana Jones movie, "The Crystal Skull" . I, like the writer of the article, am hoping that this isn't going to be cringe worthy , like the Mammoth Blemish (Phantom Menace) and the other two Starwars prequels.

Get ready for the Wachowski (The Matrix) brothers' SPEED RACER. From the still shots and the write up, seems to be another good one.

Have lots of reading. One of the things i like about SciFi magazine, they don't kiss ass. If something is meh, even if it's a SciFi channel production, you get told it's Meh.

I had subscribed to SciFi magazine. Now I know that living in Australia, I might get my issues a few weeks after the issues were released/mailed out to the US. That being said, when one issue was late, I thought it was just the international delay in shipping... until I saw there is another issue out. So, I called the US, and spoke to a very nice person named Dawn. At first she thought it might be because my subscription had expired, but quickly saw that I had subscribed for 2 years. :)

October magazine (issued in September) will be mailed out to me, and I was asked to give the Wil Smith issue a few more weeks, but if it didn't show up, email her directly and she will send me that one too.
