Wing was known as "Roo" (short for Kangaroo Land aka Australia) We met on an internet chat group about SciFi writers and shows. After 4 yrs of correspondence, phone calls, video calls, and a 3 week meeting, then seriously thinking it through, to make sure it wasn't just a whim, we both decided to fly me and mine over to RooLand. I arrived on the 4th of May, 2000.

I guess you could say "May the Fourth Be with Roo!"

Happy Anniversary, dear! ;)

Wing went to an Aikido workhsop. I had to tape up his shoulder to prevent re-injury. The removal of the tape was... well, he know knows what it feels like to 'wax' hair. He said he can't understand why anyone would deliberately do that to herself, though.

Then, off to the third part of the Portraiture Workshop. This time it was practical application of lighting, whether gentle soft light, harsh direct, flash or any combination thereof. Was much fun. What's even better is when the instructor is a bit of a nutter, because it's fun and not boring. It was great, and rather sad it's over. Learned lots.

Hurry home, get ready. For what? Wing's an my 11th Wedding Anniversary. Still smitten after all these years. Wing made reservations at Coco's, in South Perth. It was wonderful.

Still need to educate the Purr-kids about these too-damned-early wake ups. They have a screwy sense of timing. If I go to bed early, they let me sleep late (that's any time after 7am) But should I go to bed late (around or after midnight) they get me up at 5am.

That I arrived in Australia.

Wing was known as "Roo" in the US. And the date of my arrival wasn't planned, but I never let a good pun slip by.

So, "May the Fourth Be With Roo!

Let the groaning commence!

Aikidomayland and I spent the day in Guilderton and Cervantes. Many photos were taken, and we must have spent hours at "The Pinnacles". It was the best anniversary we have had.

Here's a peek/preview

Aikidomayland and I woke up pretty much at the same time. He looks over to me and said "Happy Anniversary." I returned the sentiment.

He said "Didn't think we'd go the distance."

*pillow fwap* from me.

I said "I need to trade you in for a newer model. I've never even kept a car this long. I wonder if I can trade marriage license for a driver's license."

Much snickering and giggling ensued.

I said "You betcha yes!" when asked if I would have him as husband and partner.

As enjoyable, and fun our a/b/b weekend was away from home, it's good to be back. Of course being back entails a mountain of laundry, placating two slightly psychotic 'how dare you leave me!' cats, and getting caught up with other things.

Prepped the AC as it's supposed to be another 37+ day today. aikidomayland doesn't like us using the air conditioner. He tends to forget that he is in an environmentally controlled, therefore comfortable, office all day, and drives home in an air conditioned car, whereas we at home have to deal with the heat. It wouldn't be so bad if the hot was a slow build up, but from 28 one day, to 38 the next is a bit of a swelter.

For those who are interested, a gallery of our City of Lights river cruise. Yes, I know some of the pics are blurry, but hey, I was on a moving boat, having to slow shutter speed to get bright enough images, so a little blurring/motion was to be expected.

Still there are great shots of Perth skyline, and other visual yummies.

aikidomayland and I will be enjoying a romantic anniversary dinner cruise. And then we have our plans for the weekend. :) Been trying to figure out what to do with over 3ft of hair. :D I have lots of options, but having trouble deciding which one. Love the length of it, but don't want it dragging in a 5 star dinner! :o

Coffee Stein

Meegan spotted this, and got it as anniversary present. I will *try* not to use it when my mother in law visits.

Coffe Stein

Say it with Flowers! and I don't mean triffids

Archimedes (l) and Eileen (r) snacking on some fresh banksia blossoms. I did notice if I put them in a vase of water, the blossoms tend to 're-nectar' for a few days. Sure beats cutting fresh ones every day. This little pigs get well fed by their human slave, so these are a treat for them. And boy to they suck up after they get em.
