Life happened. Sorry discordia13. It ( was too good to pass up )
Poor Lorikeets
Jan. 16th, 2007 02:15 pmThey are upset as I have altered the nature of their universe yet again (aka cleaned their cage, laundered the cage cover and the wall/floor drop sheet, mopped th entire floor with eucalyptus oil mixed with soapy water). They get most perturbed when I do this. But they really like it afterward. Silly twits.
Windy out there today, however, seems to be clear skies. I am remaining hopeful about getting a few pics of McNaught later around dusk.
Got a loverly letter/mini-book from melancharisbron. Was most enjoyable. Will reciprocate a.s.a.p. :)

Just another day at the Zoo

Meegan spotted this, and got it as anniversary present. I will *try* not to use it when my mother in law visits.

Say it with Flowers! and I don't mean triffids
Archimedes (l) and Eileen (r) snacking on some fresh banksia blossoms. I did notice if I put them in a vase of water, the blossoms tend to 're-nectar' for a few days. Sure beats cutting fresh ones every day. This little pigs get well fed by their human slave, so these are a treat for them. And boy to they suck up after they get em.

After all the chirping and other noises
Mar. 22nd, 2006 09:49 amThe Lorikeets and Cockatiel meet face to face, err beak to beak.

I was getting fed up with their getting on the counter, knocking everything over into the sink, and yesterday was the last straw. No matter what I would do to discourage them,or block their way they kept doing it. So, I hammered two nail into the wall under the clock, hung their 'drop sheet' there and moved them over. They can play Tarzan on the sheet if they want, or go to their stand outside/next to the cage, but they can now stay the hell outta my kitchen.
