Arrived at La Tropicana a bit early to get some good stretching time in, as my back is still a bit twingy. Had a pretty good session, lots of fun. Many people saw our sign, stopped to read it, and then stopped for a look-see visit. :)

Headed out to Garden City Mall to pick up a few things, still in full gear minus the tasselbelts. It was funny watching people looking, while trying not to look like they were watching.*chuckle* On the way out, this woman walking toward us started waving her hands "Oh oh oh! I know them!! Those are the Black Swan ladies from Tribe Net!" Introductions all around. Turns out she has moved to Perth area just recently from Albany (Australia, not New York). Very nice lady and hope to see her again soon. :)

We hadn't been to the Tropicana for month due to holidays, and because of my eye problem. When we showed up today, we got swarmed by customers and waitstaff with warm welcoming, we've missed you, so glad you are back greetings. Audience was most happy to see us back there too. We had a great time dancing, and it felt good to be back doing that.

First time in 2 yrs we have to cancel our Monday gig at La Tropicana. My allergy/conjuctivitis has gotten better, but my eyes are too dry, when I put my contacts in, I want to rip my eyes out, and they turn beet red again. I guess I could force it, but dosing eyes with allergy drops and do the gig, but that would just start the problem all over again, and I really don't want to go through a week of eye washes and drops again.

Still disappointed though.

Shoulder blade was acting up,so I plugged in the USB massager, and placed it between me and the chair. Muscle loosening up and mobility back to normal. It's probably because of 48 arrows in 90 minutes yesterday, with a 4lbs heavier draw bow, and then an hour of dancing today.

I think we are becoming a favorite attraction at La Tropicana. Even with the drizzly humid weather, we had regulars and people who heard we were going to be there, there for the show. That does give one a warm fuzzy feeling. :)

All decorated, bejewelled and rarin' to go. Only dilemma: which tasselbelt to wear. Made a new one from a belt base a W.A. textile artist made. It's absolutely beatitfully made. I have the tassels pinned to the underside of the belt as I always do when I am going to try out a tassel configuration. Will stitch 'em on later if they move and hang right.

My cat, Affy, is being a royal pain right now. There is a pet door, partly open, but he intermittently refuses to go through it. I refuse to open the door, so he is tearing at the screen. He might get a good soaking if he does it again.

All ready for Tropicana. Wearing the recovered/repaired dark green skirt, and it fits and moves like a dream. Silly me, should have fixed it months ago. *shrug* Didn't have the brainstorm/drizzle on how to fix it until a few weeks ago.

Archery was fun,but where my armguard wasn't covering, I am a bit sunburned. And I staying in the shade, fergossakes!

Had to give/do some pretty intense stretches to unkink the leg after limping around from a sore foot. Between wheat bag, doses of anti-inflamatories/pain killers, and massage,I am once again walking like a biped. Go me.

All ready to go. Headgear gave me fits and starts today. For some odd reason I just could not get the two layers tied up right. Slip, slide, snag. I persevered.

There is this one customer who pretty much salivates when we are dancing. We don't mind being appreciated, but this sort of drooling is a bit creepy and disconcerting.

Dancing was good, had very appreciative audience. Peter, the proprietor, has taken measures to stop people from doing something a bit sneaky. They get their food/drinks across the street, and then sit in the cafe for the entertainment. I fully agree with his measures.

Chest feels a bit tight, and I am fairly sure it's because of yanking out all that ryegrass yesterday. [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ says ryegrass is the worst things for allergies, and it's probably not too healthy for asthmatics.

My new Wing Falcon arrived. Going to get it a new arrow rest and maybe a new string (as I have the extra for my other bow that is the same length). Will have to make a new bowbag. No biggie that. Will take longer to cut out the fabric, than to sew it together.

There is something about having a regular performance schedule that just can't be beat.  :)  We traded time slots with Andy, a folk singer, just so we could try dancing with the lunch crowd around. Pete was worried we would be in the way of lunch goers, but nothing could be further from the truth. Because of the table set up, we were easily out of the way, and were able to dance between tables and were able to also go to different areas where people were sitting.

Came home, and decided to give myself a pampering henna treatment. My poor mop is a bit abused from all the braiding and twisting. Nothing like a neutral henna to give it some strength, and smoothness back. It's just the 90 mins of waiting that gets to me.  Impatient, I guess.

We arrived at La Tropicana just before some really heavy winds and rain hit. It was amusing watching us help move tables and chairs while setting up to dance.

We did pretty good, especially with recovering. Because of the rain, the acoustics were bad, so zils were out for the beginning. We picked em up again, but I left [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ alone while I dashed over to the stereo to up the volume a bit. Much better.

Then when we were doing a pretty flashy transition/spin move, the windy conditions reared their ugly heads and my skirt got tangled in my legs/feet. Luckily I was facing [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ so only she saw the look of panic "omigod I'm gonna fall on her" look on my face. Recovered nicely and continued on.

Came home, showered, and then the 4am wakeup caught up with me, and crashed for a few hours.
