For years, I have more than one (long story that, but it boils down to I have some people I keep in touch with each one) and I had been using Semagic to post to all of them by clicking on "Post entry".

But programmer stopped updating Semagic, WordPress changed their api, and blogger did something else, and Typepad also changed, so I used Windows Live Writer. Worked great, but then MS decided to not update it, and it stopped working on the three blogs mentioned above.

Then came Open Live Writer. It worked great for years, and still does, but now TypePad intermittently blocks it for 'security reasons'?

Until Typepad gets their sh*t together, it's not going to see much posting from me. (I might end up copying and pasting this to TypePad, but not gonna hold my breath as do whether or not they get their collective shit together.

I have reinstalled CryptoPrevent. Between that, and MalwareBytes, I probably have better security on my system than if I installed those program disabling Windows 7 Security/Maintenance Rollups. Especially when I have read what those rollups are 'fixing', have nothing to do with my computer.

The only annoyance I will have, is that if I need support from MalwareBytes, they will try to tell me to uninstall CryptoPrevent. I will flat out tell them did that, and it didn't solve the problem.

I read up on what the Windows 7 Security Rollup entailed, and everything it 'fixed' or patched had nothing to do with my computer.

So, I uninstalled that Rollup that disable ArcSoft TotalMediaPlayer. I will keep using it until there is another viable alternative.

Security? I have security software that will protect me from Malware, RootKits, hijackers etc etc. I prefer to have my computer and the software I bought to work properly.

You knew your "Meltdown Patch" was buggy, for Windows v7, 8, 10, but you released it. Not only that, you send out NOTHING to tell people to remove this patch!

I used two DVD/Blu-Ray play back programs (there are always discs that won't play in one program, but will in the other) TotalMedia Theater 6, and PowerDVD17. I had a problem with play back being too dark in PowerDVD about 10 days ago. So, I started TMT6... and it wouldn't start. I checked TaskManager, and noticed it started up, but then just stopped/disappeared.

A few minutes of searching on AV/Tech forums I found out that the patch is what caused it.

So, if you're having an issue with tried and true programs suddenly just not started, check to see if your most recent update is listed here, and remove it.

I read about how a guy with an orthopedic insole in his shoe wasn't allowed to board a plane because it was 'gel'.

I guess all those women with fake tits won't be boarding either?

I think the knee jerk reaction of banning all liquid substances, unless tasted (ie baby formula, baby food) is going overboard. Like tasting it will prove it's not dangerous? Making people dump these 'suspicious' substances in huge containers just before boarding... did it dawn on the bright sparks this could cause an explosion if any of the items were actually dangerous? No.

Instead of this sweeping ban, why not get more trained dogs that are specifically for carry on luggage. Or are the sniffer dogs just decorative?

Banning laptops, Ipods, switched off phones, PDAs, and making people stow them into suitcases isn't going to make anything safer. What it will do is increase thefts (coincidently, these items aren't covered by 'loss prevention' or insurance) and therefore alienate business travelers, and slightly phobic of flying people like me, who won't be able to try to distract themselves from the trip. Are they trying to say that all these years of scanning said items was just window dressing? Boggles, doesn't it?
