For our 19 year old refrigerator. Luckily I noticed it before everything in the freezer thawed. It was the the small turkey I got last weekend that was frozen that kept most of what was in the freezer frozen.

Measured the how wide and deep the now dead fridge was, then headed out to Fridge and Washer City. This time, I was in the market for one with the freezer on the bottom. Armed with measuring tape, and reading labels, I selected on that was exactly what I wanted. I asked if it could be delivered today, as I had insulin and other medications in need of refrigeration (I put them in a small insulated lunch box, with some semi thawed ice packs to keep them cool). Was told it could be, and they would take the old one. Worked for me! Made the credit card temporarily smoke by paying for it.

Alan and I went home, and started offloading what was in the freezer into an 'esky' aka cooler. We packed everything we could around the turkey. Then we went to the fridge. Yuck. The smell of things that went off combined to create a really nasty smell. While we were cleaning that out, the new fridge arrived. We weren't done yet, so we busted out butts getting everything out, sorted, packed or tossed.

Talk about an intense 30 minute work out! I am sore... Tramadol sore. This is the first time in months Wing said he would cook tonight. Gawd, I Love that man. He's also bringing home some 3M sticky tabs so we can re-hang the cooking utensils on the side of the fridge.I have needed the prescription pain meds.

Did I mention I was sore? Oh yeah, I did.

I can understand wanting to make sure there are no burns in the carpeting, no holes punched through walls or doors, but expecting the place to look like no one lives in it, like it's a model home, isn't realistic.

Very dopey, sore, and exhausted. I have put him to bed, and am betting he sleeps through the night. Helluva day. First scheduled surgery had a complication, and ended up taking much longer than it should have. That caused a chain reaction, making all the subsequent surgeries start later than scheduled.

Wing was (I think mostly due to apprehension) very short tempered and foul mouthed. It got to the point I told him he was no longer allowed to get on my case about me using 'bad words', and I started putting my hand over his mouth when a nurse walked by. This language wasn't because he was on drugs. That I would just chuckle at, and then ignore.

Waiting close to a half an hour for a cab to get home. Not good at all. But now, he is home, safely tucked in. Seeing as I have been up since 4:30, I'm quite sure I will be crashing soon, too.

Just got back. Was ignored by then promptly swarmed by the cats.

Have to crack open the suitcases carefully, remove clothing with tongs and get them decontaminated asap. Ok, no tongs are really needed, but two suitcases of 'hiking adventure' clothing is a bit.. umm fragrant.

Glad to be home, but missing the warm already.

Aikidomayland asked if I wanted to go to archery today. He doesn't seem to understand that going at full speed for over a week, I could use some time off for lazy behavior. And seeing as he didn't get up until well after 10am, I feel I am also entitled to a bit of down time.

As much as I enjoyed our 'vacation' in Melbourne, I'm glad to be home. No more running around insane, trying to pack in as much activity in an allotted amount of time.

Now, if only we could figure out how to placate 3 rather clingy, needy cats.

Traded in my FlyBuys Points (a loyalty card) for a Black and Decker wet/dry Dustbuster. I showed Aikidomayland what the choices were, but the ultimate decision was mine.

He started calling me a "Gadget Whore" after I told him he will no longer have an excuse for not vacuuming the car, or using an entire roll of paper towels to pick up a spill (that boggled me. A container of water got knocked over on a rug, and he got paper towels to mop it up when there was a rug cleaner right there. 'Domestically Challenged' comes to mind.)

So every time he called me a gadget whore, I called him and ink slut. (See Kae-Dash , I did create a monster.)

Other than the promise of rain to give the ground a good wetting, and cooling things off, but for getting indoor chores done.

Shifted the bows off the wall to dust them off.

Opened up the windows, and a miniature tiger decided that the view outdoors was very interesting.

Yeah, she is really getting into being a pet, rather than a mom in a cattery. :)

I had finally found a small desk fan that clamps onto the edge of a desk or table. I noticed that it had, by virtue of Loki constantly walking behind it to get tot he window sill, dust and fur on the fan blades and grill, really choking off the breeze it created.

So, I decide to clean the thing, doing it the right way. Now, it sounds as if something is abrading in the motor. I used some fine grade machine oil on it and it's a bit quieter, but sometimes the fan blades won't start unless you give em a little nudge. :/

Here's hoping I can get another one.

Home again

And I am totally knackered.

Seems I took the calmative at the perfect time. Was zoning out just before boarding, and zonked out less than 5 minutes after takeoff, and woke up when coming in for a landing.   Had to wait around in the airport because they only had one poor mook unloading the 'oversized/restricted' luggage.  He was run ragged.

Got a cab, station wagon variety and got home pretty darned smoothly.

Alan met us at the door, and helped to haul our luggage into the house.  Cats proceeded to go totally insane.  Keito has just calmed down. Affy on the other hand might end up getting boarded the next time we go anywhere.  He 'voiced' his displeasure at our absense, and I have just finished cleaning the stack of DVDs he did said 'voicing'.

Will unpack suitcase tomorrow, and get the laundry done.  Pardon me while I go kick off my shoes and prop my feets up.
