I have watched
"An Inconvenient Truth: A Global Warning" twice (once by myself, once with
aikidomayland). It's not a hair tearing, clothes ripping emo flick, but a carefully researched, collated, and proven, factual documentary that anyone who cares if this blue marble keeps us alive and well should see and heed.
My surprise is how many lunatics want the movie banned from schools, as it contradicts the bible. It gets even better. The fundies can't agree on something concerning their bible reasons: because I have seen three different nutjobs saying the the earth is 4000, or 3000, or 14,000 years old. One specifically said that global warming isn't because of the megatons of carbon dioxide and other pollutants being dumped in the atmosphere and oceans. It's because we are "Under G*ds' curse, and this is written in Revelations", so I guess we are supposed to just keep polluting and jacking up the global average temperature? According to these idiots, yes.
All fundies want to keep people ignorant. Controlling information controls the masses. Give out false or altered information trimmed to fit an agenda, and then the populace ends up ignorant.
If fundies want to keep their heads in the sand (or up their butts) fine, but keep it to themselves. The doom crying gets a bit stale. Many years ago, I sent some 'time delivered' letters to be given the first week in January to END OF THE WORLD predictors who said the world was going to end last day of 1999, last day of 2000, and at the change to 2001 with one question. "Why are you still here?" And yes, delivery was accepted.
Nuff said?
