It's the end of an era. Arthur C. Clark, Isaac Asimov... and now Ray Bradbury.

Whatever this bug I picked up is, it really likes to kick my ass. Every joint I have ever injured in the past is throbbing like a bad tooth. The queasies are no picnic either. I stayed up late last night so I could pre-order a limited publication. I ordered one for me, and one for a friend who said he couldn't stay awake long enough.

I didn't get up until almost 10am. I think Loki was a bit disconcerted that his human was still in bed so late in the day. He snuggled up, and gave me a few head snogs and head butts to wake me gently. And when I peeled one eyelid back, he started purring so loud, I thought he was going to shake his bones apart.

I still see a nap in my near future. And hopefully no one will wake me up this time.

Loki is worse than a limpet mine. I really wanted to sleep in, but his furry-godliness wouldn't let me... not until I fwapped him with a pillow. (Before you dash off to call PETA or ASPCA, no animals were injured, and that includes me!)

Everything from mid shoulders down is giving me more grief than usual, but thinking about how the con was a 5 day photo shoot, I'm not overly surprised. Got some great photographs. Still wading through them.

This is what I have so far:

Many good National Geographic, and other science based shows from The Discover Channel. Unfortunately at night, there is nothing but thrice reheated leftovers errrr reruns. Or some of the worst B grade movies ever put to film.

I have pretty much read through all of my Jim Butcher books, and are ready to start in on another author's series. I love reading, I really do, but I would really like to see the studios pull their heads outta their backsides and pay the writers what they well and truly deserve.

One of the most prolific Fantasy/SciFi writers passed away.

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God’s timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

He was 84. The author of at least 19 novels, many of them best-sellers, as well as dozens of short stories, essays and plays, Vonnegut relished the role of a social critic
