Ze heatwave, eet has broken (for a day or so)

Yesterday it was a sweltering 44c. Today, a cool by comparison 33. Not going to last too long, as it will hot up again soon.

It was funny watching the cats lay themselves out like a pair of furry throw rugs, belly down, on the cool stone floors.

Went to see "The Golden Compass" today. It was a pretty good flick. I don't see why the fundies have their panties in a twist over it, unless it's the usual reason of "it's not the bible!". Maybe they should see the movie and stop listening to inflammatory rhetoric that keeps getting exaggerated with each telling.

I saw it yesterday. I'm going to read the books once school goes back.

I think that the 'Magisterium vs free thinkers' plot could be seen as a 'church vs free thinkers' scenario, especially in the ways it has tried to suppress alternative ideas in the past and present.

Or that world having the peoples souls as animal guides/spirits called demons. If there was any word to give fundies diaper (nappy) rash, that would be one of the big ones.

We saw it tonight , it was great ,the morons in the cinema not so great .

How hard is to shut the hell up in a cinema when people are trying to watch a movie amd hard is it to instill in children that a cinema is not a playground where you run around in every five damn minute *grrr arrgh*, yeah I would so have been a fear of Mel kind of mum *evil grin*.

Remember they watered the film down a lot over the books. The fundies really only have their knickers bunched because the books promote the idea that blind faith is a bad thing(tm) - oh that and it's a slow news month. It doesn't mention any specific religion.

I think the Davinci Code probably was a worse movie for the xtian cause...
