The bright spark that gave an 82 yr old woman a $114 ticket for not making across a 5 lane road that even 14 yr old kids have trouble running from one side to the other before the crossing light turns red. What a guy, and what makes this worse, is he boss backs up this stupidity. I hope Karma comes up and bites these bozos on the ass. (I'd bet these cops would get really really angry if some stooge gave their grandma a ticket for not being an Olympic sprinter.) ETA The officer didn't say she was illegally crossing but that her slowness was 'obstructing the flow traffic'.

Seems she did enter when it was green, but 20 seconds just isn't enough time to cross 5 lanes of traffic, unless you can run.

Not that I always believe cops, but he claims she stepped off the curb when the light had already changed. They're cracking down on jaywalking in CA because of some recent fatalities.

Yeah, he claims that, but with everyone else having the problem (kids having to run, and even them not making it across)with how short the crossing light is, benefit of the doubt for me swings towards the senior citizen.

That is true. I saw the old bird interviewed on the news, and she reminded me of a neighbor I once had who was always spoiling for a showdown, so I was willing to give the cop the benefit of the doubt.

Oops,he doesn't say she didn't enter crosswalk when it was green. She says it turned red when she was halfway across. Dunno what she was supposed to do.. run back the other way?
