I have been prepping meals, and eating pretty much a diabetic diet for the past 4 days, as I am trying to get this insulin resistance under control. It's not a difficult way but there are things to adjust to.
One thing I noticed, I tend to get hungry within a few hours after eating. I probably will have to shift from 3 meals a day, to several small ones instead. The "can have" and "don't touch with a barge pole!" items in the house are ok.
Spawn and
aikidomayland tend to forget, potato chips and chocolates (purchased before Dr visit) are no nos for me, and keep offering. I just look at them and give a slight whimper. Then they remember and profusely apologise for their forgetfullness. *sigh*
