Miss me?

I don't know of the lunkheads who gave me smarmy excuses will get a clue, but one can hope that all the deleted journals for the 2 day span had some sort of impact on their thick skulls. Don't hold out much hope, as their dismissive replies are full of doublespeak.

I haven't heard back from them or SixApart, but not overly surprised. It still befuddles me that for the sake of a few idiots that equate nursing a baby to a porno flick, they have suspended some peoples accounts for having an image of a nursing mother (Even historical religious paintings depicting Mary nursing baby Jesus, I kid you not) as their default icon. I have sent complaints about this heavy handedness and their doublespeak excuses. At least I have a 'bolt hole' now, and have backed up my LJ including my user pictures. Dunno about the galleries though. I guess I should get that done now.

I don't know if the planned blog protest will do anything, but I do agree with it.

Lj Book turns your journal into a printable PDF file. Sure as hell beats the crappy XML method.

LJBook

Turns your journal into a PDF Book.

So, I email the PTB about my stance on their wussiness after thinking long and hard about it.

I am upset at your decision/ruling That a woman breast feeding her baby is akin to someone flashing their genitalia so cannot be used as a default icon, BUT an unnatural tattooed male nipple is ok. If I used a picture of a shirtless Rush Limbaugh with his double D man boobs as my default icon, THAT would be ok, but a screen cap of me nursing my newborn infant isn't. Do you see the disparity here?

I thought that LJ was a place where one could, within reason, be. A breast is not a penis, or a vagina, and your caving in to a few bottle fed, therefore resentful, complainers is shocking. What's sadder is that bloggers, a few of them permanent LJ owners, and most of them paid owners, are going elsewhere and will allow their blogs to get dusty. It saddens me that you took that path, instead of saying to the complainers "If you don't like it, don't look, you have that choice." No, instead you took the choice away from all of us.

I shopped around for my weblog over 3 yrs ago, and selected LiveJournal. I won't be deleting it (permanently), as it's a way for me to keep in touch with family and friends all over the world. But I am saddened at that you deemed a breast fed baby icon as 'obscene'. I just hope you open your eyes and realise what your decision says.

There are been accounts suspended because of the blogger complaining to LJ or not removing their babyfeeding icon as their default icon. There is a blog-protest happening this monday, against LJs' current ruling as to what is 'obscene'. I don't think deleting the journal will affect their stats, but if enough people let their journals lay idle for 24 hrs, that will.

EDIT: If you agree that LJ admin has gone overboard with this ruling, go here: If you agree this is just wrong go here: http://www.sixapart.com/about/contact and tell them so.
