I got this rather stupid reason for why they are limiting the tags. It's for 'performance related issues'. I don't buy that for a second.

Why?

Because searching for subjects, interests, users would be even more difficult, and that's not being stopped or limited, is it?

Bets this becomes a 'if you want extra, pays us' issue?

EDIT

They are trying to tell me that the interest searches are limited. Not buying it and here is why:

Yes, it might only kick back 1000 hits, BUT it (pay attention here) has to search through users until it gets 1000 hits which I still say nails their 'resources' a helluva lot harder than kicking back 10 entries of mine (or anyones) with one unique tag.

Tag limit of 1000

Yes, I know I have already submitted a comment concerning this, but I wanted to add something that is rather important.

I did a little checking. The free blogs, ie Greatest Journal, Insane Journal, do NOT have this cap on Tags.

This new policy of yours has seriously hobbled other groups and communities. Please, remove the cap.

Thank you.

Not holding my breath, but hoping.

Limiting Tags to 1000?
What gives with that???? 1000 might seem like a lot, but after going on 5 years, almost 4000 entries in my OWN journal, not counting how many posts in the communities I am a member of, 1000 is not enough.

I looked at the amount of tags, and they tally up to less than 15k... 15 k, not 15 megs. Some of my posts have been bigger than that. I will delete a photograph of equal or greater size if necessary.

Please remove the restriction on tags for posts. I had some that I posted that were in a thread, only to find out the tags i had thought were there to quick find them hadn't gone on due to this 1000 limit.

Please, remove it.

Thank you.

Betting they will do the usual.

L.J. support is still trying to foist off the issue with my entries getting mysteriously "Date out of ordered" on offline blogging software. The only problem with this is about half the entries were done with the FULL MODE UPDATER here.

I had one person say the past 3 entries of mine are the first ones she has seen in 5 months! So much for entries just the past 17 days.

I don't like condescension. It puts my back up, and tends to make me come out swinging (verbally, that is.)

For weeks, I had been using Trillian Jabber for LJTalk, without a hitch. Also installed Gizmo for giggles. Both showed who was online, and correctly echoed my online status on my profile page.

Suddenly, I notice that when I connect with Trillian to LJTalk, peoples online status shows for a brief moment, then they all drop offline, and profile page says I am offline. If I use Gizmo, it connects, shows no one online, and again incorrectly echoes my online status.

So, after doing all the techie stuff I know how, and reading, bite the bullet and email LJ Support. I think they sometimes read the requests in "Cliff Note" fashion. (not reading it all, just parts)
what transpired )

Now I know I am not the only person asking for help, but geeze, if you are going to add your 2 cents, at least read the ENTIRE support request?
