or just decided roaming around at night was a good idea...

I would like to thank you for Trance's "I WANT TO KILL YOU!" screams and yowl in the middle of the night, as she followed your cat from office window, to the front bay windows, until it left our yard, only to enter my neighbors yard outside her field of vision.

You are the type of cat owner that makes responsible pet owners pissed off. Our only 'free range' cat is a 15 yr old who likes to bake on the bricks in the fenced in back yard, and has one area he uses for his bodily functions. But he is not allowed to roam free, night or day. If he really wants out at night, we have an enclosure that is attached to the sliding glass doors.

The other three cats are *never* allowed to go outside, free range. It's the enclosure, with a chair, two hammocks, a box , and a few pingpong and golf balls to play with, a panoramic view of birds of all kinds local for entertainment.

But there are, and have been, at least 7 cats that roam around. One, I caught and rehomed as the poor might had been abandoned when the humans moved house. That leaves 6. I'm fairly sure that two of them, (one of which I had photographed her in our Jacaranda tree some years ago), has passed, leaving the 4 regular roamers.

Milo (the only one to have a collar with a name tag, who is the "Groo-bear look-alike"), the Ragdoll (why someone would let a pedigree cat roam is beyond me), the white cat with flame point tail and ears, and the ginger and white striped cat.

These are the cats whose owner's thumb their noses at local laws and regulations concerning cats. You are the kind that make things more difficult for those of us who obey laws, and do all the right things. I don't blame the cats for doing what cats are genetically geared to do. I do blame the humans who are supposed to be their caretakers.

I got yet another filled with misinformation, CHRISTIAN nation, gun owners rights email from stepfather. I counted to 50 twice, then sat down and typed this out:

The argument of those serving in the military, and civilians is a false dichotomy. Military personnel are trained, schooled, lessoned, drilled on the proper use of a weapon even before they step out on a firing range. Those 19 yr olds in the military are mature enough to sign up for military service knowing this will be what they go through.

Also, I am so tired of reading about 'gun owners rights'. What about the rights of unarmed people to not get shot?

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state" That woman who had all those guns, the ones her own son killed her with, then went on to slaughter 20 babies and 7 teachers, how was she necessary to the security of a free state, or militia? 5 good 'ol boys posing with their weapons in various 'attack' positions, how are they necessary to the security of a free state? They aren't militias, and would more than likely have been rejected had they shown up at an enlistment center.

If you try to say you need a retooled M16 assault rifle, without it being fully automatic, and using a high capacity ammo clip for home defense, you're lying. If you say you need it for hunting, then you have no business out there hunting. If you can't take down your game with a bolt action .306 you have no business out there. Nor do you need an assault weapon, aka the Bushmaster, for target practice.

Think of this: there was ONE, just ONE failed attempt at a shoe bombing. Now, we all have to take our shoes off at airports. There have been 32 mass murder shootings in the US, starting with Columbine, but still not one change in gun regulation? That is insanity. And just because I want gun regulation doesn't mean I'm some "anti-gun librul nut". You want to go skeet shooting? Fine! Home defense? Single shot rifle, or a revolver would do the trick. Hunting? See above comment about a bolt actions .306. Unless you are in a war zone, you do NOT need anything else.

About the praying: Federal Law, the Marines are Federal Employees. If they don't want to follow federal law, they should have become private security instead. So, HAIL the ACLU.

As for the "One Nation Under God" that was added in 1954 during the McCarthy era, to 'smoke out them damned commies', under the delusion that communist spies wouldn't stoop to saying "god". Think that one through... they are undercover spies, and won't say God? Using the excuse that those 20 babies murdered was because "God was taken out of schools"... Ok, what the excuse for those people shot to death in churches?

...at least use a spell checker for your headline.

My opinion: for the longest time, religious orgainsations never recognized civil unions as marriages. If you don't believe me, a 30 second search on Google (or search engine of your choice) will confirm that.

But now that same sex couples want to have civil unions, all the hypocritical religious leaders and their followers who claim to be Christians are gnashing their teeth, wailing, and tearing at their clothes about how these civil unions are marriages, and that it will destroy society.

#1: the arguments these 'Christians' are using were used before, but about multi ethnic marriages (case in point, mine) In some instances it was deemed a criminal criminal act for someone perceived to be 'white' to marry an African, or Asian, that society would crumble. Guess what, hayseeds! Didn't happen then. This argument was wrong then, and is wrong now.

#2: Jesus didn't say diddly squat about homosexuals, or homosexuality. So all you Christians have got to stop using the Old Testament.

#3: No one is asking or telling heteros that they have to marry same sex partner, so it will have ZERO impact on you, your marriage or society.

#4 Marriages weren't always 'holy' or "Sanctified'. They used to be nothing more than contracts between families, and/or towns. Ceremonies performed by local town elders.

So, give it up, go home, read whatever version of the New testament you have, and keep your nose out of other peoples bedrooms. Unless you are one of the parties involved, it doesn't concern you.

I understand the need for the RSPCA in Western Australia doing something about the feral cat populations, and removing animals from hoarders, or removing abused/neglected animals from homes, but this is stupid.

The RSPCA is supporting a drafted law that will allow them to enter anyones' house, if they have more than 2 cats, with no exceptions for pedigree breeders or people like me who are fostering and remove 'excess animals'. This could seriously impact people like me who foster, or want to foster rescued animals.

I got this from Ziggy/Simba/Lucy's breeder. I have told her if she needs any signatures on a petition, let me know.

New laws to defend rape victims

DEFENCE barristers have been told to clean up their act and stop intimidating rape victims in the witness box - even if their client has instructed them to do so.

Attorney-General John Hatzistergos has told state barristers' body the Bar Association that the behaviour of counsel towards sexual assault victims, including children, must change.

I had blogged about a 13 yr old girl who shot and killed her abusive father. She was charged as an adult.

After visiting the 'scene of the many crimes' the prosecutor decided to try her as juvenile after all.

Matthew Booth, 34, was lying face-up on the mattress when he was shot in the head early July 30. His 13-year-old daughter told investigators she used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot him in the face, a crime that her attorney said was precipitated by years of sexual abuse.

The Associated Press on Sunday toured the Elizabeth Township home, located about 20 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, and found revolting conditions.

"I've been in crack houses that have been nicer," said Eddie Rose, a private investigator hired by the girl's attorney, Patrick Nightingale.

Prosecutors initially charged the girl as an adult with criminal homicide. But after visiting the filthy home Friday, Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. decried the deplorable conditions and said the girl would be tried as a juvenile.

I had stated earlier the hypocrisy of prosecution, that if a child of 13 engages in sexual activity, she is deemed a child, but if she commits an act of violence she is deemed an adult. (acute sarcasm on) I guess that since there was sexual abuse going on, she is once again a 'child'.

Girl, 13, charged with shooting father to death

BUENA VISTA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl used a shotgun to fatally shoot her father in the head early Monday in a home overrun with animals and filth, police said.

The girl told investigators she used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot 34-year-old Matthew Booth in the face while he was in bed, according to a police affidavit.

A police complaint did not identify a motive in the killing, but her mother, Michelle Fazek, who was separated from Booth, said she had complained several times to county child welfare officials that her daughter and her brother, 14, were living in squalor and that her daughter had been abused.

The girl appeared in municipal court late Monday wearing a maroon county jail uniform, her hands and ankles cuffed, where she was charged as an adult with criminal homicide and ordered held without bail.

This part bothers me... the blatant double standard of the laws. If a 13 yr old child engages in sexual activity, she is deemed a child, but if she commits act of violence, she is consider and charged as an adult? Why is that?

Also the mother made several complaints, and child protective services did nothing? Drop the ball there much?
