I found a great use for all the excess hand sanitizer. Get a small microfiber cloth, squirt some on it, make sure the cloth is damp with it.

If your computer is on, open notepad and close everything else. Maximize note pad, and start cleaning. It's easier if your computer is off, but with notepad on you can actually see which keys get used the most.

The past few weeks Wing and I have been doing massive 'spring cleaning', rather like a small version of "The bonfire of the vanities" type. Going through closets/cupboards/bookcases/nooks/corners and sorting, dusting, and throwing a lot out.

We have never been the type to keep something just for the sake of keeping something. I had been giving so much stuff away and selling things cheap, that I had gotten concerned for my well being emails (rest assured, wasn't planning on doing something to myself, just unloaded things that were in good to excellent condition, but wasn't being used)

What was funny, though, is when Loki came out of my office, and stopped dead in his tracks, crouched down slightly and started looking around. Yes, we changed his known universe without consulting him. *laughing*

I'm just starting to get back into the game... The game of house cleaning. I don't think any of the floors have been vacuumed since mid-August, coincidentally when my shoulder was operated on. I have this receptacle on my bagless vacuum cleaner that collects fur, hair, sand, etc etc so the small filter/cannister doesn't get filled up.

Three times, I had to empty the receptacle out, and it's half filled again. That is only after my office, Wing 's office, master bedroom and the open area.

Wing has been away on a business conference for the past few days, and I have taken the opportunity to get some serious cleaning done. I don't mean vacuuming and dusting, I mean emptying closets, pulling things out of corners, sorting through it and throwing the majority of it away.

I feel if you keep things just for the sake of keeping them, you end up being a slave to them. Plus it clutters up your living area.

Have to stop because I filled the rubbish bin, which was emptied this morning and I have enough to fill it half way again. Have to leave space/room for regular household trash.

That calculates and correlates why when cleaning out a room or a closet, you make a bigger mess before it starts looking tidy.

I invite them to the 3 hour workout I just had. And I'm still not done. Problem is, I'm wincing when I take a deep breath, or try to sit up or pull my posture up straight.

Bonus: I still have more to do; and it needs to be done. Can't put it off.

Took over 5 hours.

Filled both the trash cans (one next to the door, and one next to my desk) have stored things in some boxes, and generally cleared out a lot of clutter. Have to find a place for one smallish box of reading material. Maybe I should close it, wrap it in fabric and use it as a footstool.

Attacking the clutter on the bottom shelf of the DVD/Bookcase. As usual, I made a worse mess than there was before I started. Sorted through and tossed old paid bills, already renewed policies, and other dated items.

Now I have to clean up my cleaning up. *sigh*

Sorted out and washed, hung out, took down, fluff and folded 4 loads of laundry.

Broke out the vacuum cleaner and the carpets got its tender attentions. Amazing how much crud a bagless machine gets out of the rug. Emptied it, swapped out dust mite filter for a clean one. Cleaned the 'dirty' filter, then noticed how grungy the utility sink was. Scrubbed that out. New shade of color now... clean.

Attacked a 'clutter corner' in our bedroom, and have irritated Ziggy because of it. I removed a stack of book from there, and put them in the bookcase, thereby filling in Ziggy's bolt hole behind the scratch post.

Now I have the not so much fun part, as pain and nausea have arrived in equal measure.

Took a large bag of clothes to The Red Cross in Willagee. I'm sure it will all be put to good use. I also picked up a small square cut vase that can hold more than one flower.

So, part one of the Scaled down "Bonfire of the Vanities" has been finished. Now, I have to get Wing to do his closet. I'm quite sure there are many items that could be tossed and not missed. He does tend to hang onto things until they're threadbare, although he has been good at tossing out somethings, mostly if there are body parts poking or falling out. *chuckle*
