anysia: (WOW!)
Little did I know that one of the local birds thought they were a hot lunch.

Bertie and Archimedes are fine. Chances are the kites feet are sore from being bitten. h.t. To Alan for spotting the reason for the ruckus. I dashed out with the lens I had on the camera, didn't really have time to change it.

I walked into Alan's lounge room , the one Bertie the cockatiel lives, and what do I see? Loki's ass end sticking out of the top of the cage, while he was using the perches like branches to climb down to Bertie.

Grabbed him by scruff and lifted him out of the cage. "Loki! no, no no." and firmly put him on the floor. Mew. No. Mew, and off he scampered.

Closed down the 'skylight' area of Berties' cage. What Loki, silly kitty, doesn't realise, is that a cockatiel or a Lorikeet can get a helluva nasty bite. Wasn't the bird I was rescuing, was the kitten!

Wasn't entirely sure I really needed it all that much. Not until I did a few of the side stretches, and sideways stretch of right leg.

Yesterday had its' amusements. Started raining heavily, and suddenly. I looked into the lounge room, and there was Bertie (cockatiel) posturing and fluffing as if he was the one being rained on. So, I obliged him by getting spray bottle and giving him a good soaking.

The front yard is looking amazing. Will take another picture of it when it's finished. I am so glad that aikidomayland finally came to the conclusion that I just can't do the upkeep. Not after over 8 months of growing wild.

Getting personalised licence plates for the Forester. Will post that later. *chuckle*

Alan cleaned the cages today. The 'keets have a stand to hang out on while theirs is being cleaned. Bertie doesn't, so I became his temporary perch.

Bertie, dim light, manual focus. This is an 800k file. Like I said, Iwill be experimenting with lighting, exposure and camera settings.

You know how sometimes you see a cat sitting in a window, looking at the birds outside?

How's this for a role switch? )

Got Bertie, the foundling cockatiel, a new home, replacing the hunk o junk cage. For some odd reason, Keito, the Purrminator, has forgotten what it means to get too up close and personal with a bird defending his home. Last time, the keets pulled tufts of fur out from between his toes. Doesn't help that Bertie is looking down at him from just above the food/water dishes.

Short memory, or wishful thinking? )
