# Advocate says rape victim, 10, could blame herself
# Case shocked nation when gang rapists escaped jail
# Premier Bligh takes 'radical action' on case

THE young girl at the centre of a rape scandal that has shocked the nation could blame herself and feel great shame unless her assailants are properly punished, according to a man involved in her care.

The more info that surfaces about this case, the more heinous Judge Bradley's decision is. Turns out this little girl was sexually assaulted when she was 7, and she was removed from the home and place into Foster Care. Then some bright spark put her back into that home, and she was subsequently gang raped by 9 men.

The idiots that put her back into the abusive situation have been disciplined, and some fired. I still say some of them should be brought up on charges for child endangerment at the very least. And that Judge should voluntarily remove herself from the judicial bench.

Sounds to me like fairly standard left-wing racism. The child protection agency officials probably assumed that she would be safer with her "own kind," and considered race more sigificant than previous behavior.

I had to stop and translate the "left-wing racism", as in the US (even us transplanted ones) Liberals are what Labor is here aka Left Wing, and Right-Wingers are the Conservatives/Liberal Party here.

I have noticed a strong undercurrent of not so hidden racism of the Left-wing/Liberal party concerning the indigenous people. And that judge coming out and saying this 10 yr old aboriginal child consented just showed it.

Not quite 30 years ago, I was in a high school which, until a certain incident, had an open campus.

The incident was a girl who was raped by 2 or three boys from one of her classes, in a hall-way leading to the orchestra room - a bit of a dead space, and easily where trouble could brew.

The judge presiding over that case opined that the girl must have deserved it because she "must have been" wearing something provocative, like so many young woman were.

That sat very, very poorly with my progressive-politics town - an immediate recall campaign went into effect, and not only was the judge recalled, but he lost the ensuing election to a woman.

I'm shocked by the whole detail of the case you're following, but doubly-so at the sex of the judge - my god, no sympathy at all from her! She must be trying to out-Thatcher the original. Either that, or she's just an apologist for patriarchy.

The sad part of this is that it is typical Liberal/Coalition Party's opinion and treatment of aboriginals. Since they aren't pink skinned, they aren't quite as human and quite feel things or think the same way her pinkness thinks and feels.

I still say if it had been a blonde haired, blue eyed white girl gang raped, this 'judge' would have had a different decision.

Seems that the premier in that area has ordered a review of all of this judges cases, as her decision making is highly suspect.

"must have been wearing"?

He didn't even know what she was wearing?

Sounds like there were some missing bits of evidence. Was the prosecutor in the courtroom at any time during the trial? Did s/he even get near the courthouse?

Yeah, "must have been wearing" because at least by this time in history, a going-over of a woman's sexual history and clothing choices was not permissable during the trial. After all, she's not the perpetrator, is she? So it was only in the final summing up, when the judge was handing in the sentence, that he let slip this remark, with its attitude of excusing the "resultant" male behavior.

At least it cost him a whole world of pain, and a lost election.

(Hey, nice to see you - have I kept you up on my latest move?)

Glad it caused his horribleness his job. Someone should explain to him that what is on a female body as clothing has nothing to do with rape.
