Kensei exacts his revenge by keeping Hiro stoned on opium so he can't time jump. Seems that half of Japan, Yaeko were promised to him by White Beard if he caught Hiro for him. Yaeko picks the lock on her bounds (silly men forgot she was blacksmiths daughter, and a girl.. can we say hairsticks?) and pushes the opium away from Hiro and begs him to save them all. He digs deep and gets them out.
Nathan and Matt get back to 'the company' to inform Bob that he is the next one on the list to be killed by Matt's father, Maury. Bob wants Suresh to inject Maury with the designed virus and Matt to help capture his dad by teaching himself a crash course in how to use his mind reading abilities to control his fathers' thoughts.
Caitlin and Peter get caught in New York by a biohazard team, and are hauled off for a decontamination scrub and interrogation. Caitlin is deported. Peter is told about the "Shanti Virus" which became a pandemic.
Matt confesses to a comatose Molly that he was wrong for asking her to find 'the boogey man', and pours out his heart concerning his dad, and how he is supposed to stop him. When he says he loves her, her EEG spikes. He mindspeaks it to her and it happens again. Hope for Molly is alive again.
West inveigles himself to breakfast at Clares' house. Clare is freaking out about the newspaper blurb about drunken cheerleader saying she saw a flying boy. West finds out that the 'man in the horned rim glasses' is Clares' dad. He freaks and flys away. Noah tells Clare she has risked all of them and they are moving again. She says go ahead, without her.
Nikki sees DL in the hallway, and he says she is going to kill everyone. It's Maury playing mindgames with her.
We find out who Adam is... he is the one who wants to destroy everything. Linderman was Adam's disciple, and he wants revenge for Bob and the company locking him up. Bob fessed to Nathan that his brother is alive. *shock*
In '08 New York Peter is brought to his mother but he doesn't know her. The look of relief on his mothers' face speaks volumes. She tells Peter his brother is dead, he died in the first outbreak of the virus. And she tells him he needs to remember.... and he does.
Maury messes with Nikki some more, and she cold cocks Suresh and takes the hypodermic filled with the virus and walks out.
Hiro goes to the stockpile of guns and starts strewing gunpowder around in preparation of blowing it up. Kensei shows up, and sword fight ensues. A lamp gets knocked over and sets a fire. When Kensei threatens Yaeko with death, Hiro beats him down, but offers his hand to get him out of the burning building. Kensei curses him. Hiro time trips out, and looks back to see the building blow up. He goes back and finds Kensei's helmet. He tells Yaeko that he killed Kensei, and she tells him that is not so. Kensei killed himself with his dishonorable actions. They declare their always to be unrequited love, and he leaves.
Cut to office cubicle. We see a Ando hard at work. Ando turns around and sees Samuraii helmet on the desk, and Hiro surprises him with "I had to get you a souvenir". He wants to tell his father about everything, and Ando has the unhappy task of telling him his father has been murdered.
Matt manages to pull Maury into the Nightmare Room, and realises it's not his nightmare, but Maury's and walks out and leaves Maury trapped in it. Matt wakes up to find his father on the floor. Molly wakes up.
Nikki is punches out the door, and goes after Nathan and Bob. Nathan blocks her from killing Bob, and she injects herself with the virus. Suresh finds out the antibodies in his blood don't kill the new virus. Shanti Virus anyone? When he tells Bob, he is ordered to go get Clare, even if he has to kill Bennet. Suresh picks up the gun Bob has given him, but who will he use it on?
Peter loses Caitlin in the decontamination area, only to time trip back to Ireland. He tries to do it again but fails. He hears someone coming up behind him, and instinctively shoots a bolt of electricity towards whoever it was. You see a scorched hand that heals quickly.... Kensei introduces himself to Peter as Adam.
