On a more technical note
Oct. 10th, 2007 11:14 pmAcerClone's hotsink fan has been making some loud noises. Now I don't want a repeat of what happened with AcerBeast. IT was making loud noises, and then about 2 weeks later, the harddrive suffered a catastrophic failure, and I lost some pertinent data.
Went shopping around, looking for the best bargain, price and hardware I could get for the price range I was trying to stay in. And I found it. It is another Acer. Hey, I like them, the mainboards are great, and the architecture is fine. HDs fail, that's just part of computer ownership: you try to upgrade your harddrives ahead of their failures. Sometimes you manage, other times...eh.
I will be trying to find or fix the hotsink fan in AcerClone. And AcerBeast still works, as I am typing on it now. Will be finding a new home for it, so to speak.
Extensa 2000,2.8ghz Pent4 New 80 gig hd, 1.5 gigs ram, new DVDRW (Replaced the crappy Matshita drive that was originally installed),and new Battery. Original OEM discs and back ups. 'Relatively' cheap.
