After leaving Alantia, the city, Atlantis, gets grazed by the replicator beam, crippling the city. The conduits are damaged, and they are bleeding power, they drop out of hyperspace, lost and unable to communicate with the Apollo which was due to meet them. Elizabeth is critically injured , and the city's auto systems are shutting down the atmosphere and collapsing the shield in an effort to to save power. Rodney comes to the rescue, or more like he tries. The citys' automated systems shutdown go faster than he does.
Ronan, Mister Macho, grosses out or shocks the doctor by pulling out a huge chunk of debris from his shoulder. That's our boy!
Elizabeth is at deaths' door, with brain swelling, and the doctors try a decompressive cranioctomy to relieve the pressure. The doc informs Sheppard that Wier suffered brain damage due to her injuries and brain swelling, and will not be ok, even if she survives. Big stress on the "if". The doctors take a radical dangerous step to cure her. The Nanites. Sheppard is vehement against using them. Rodney and the Doc ignore his protests and used them anyhow.
Nothing seems to go right. Can't expand the shields and heading into an asteroid field. Nailbiting while the few who possess the ancient gene climb into puddle jumpers to clear a field.
Don't want to spoil too much more. I did like every time Rodney thought things were ok, with in seconds, he and Sheppard would get emergency call to report to the control room. "Oh come ON!" Poor Rodney
I also like the new Doctor (Kaylee of Firefly), she can joust words with Rodney perfectly.
