Just got off the phone with the vet

Loki's leg is badly broken, just above the patella, on the lower end of the femur at the growth plate. I will be going down to look at the xrays, but I already know what has to be done. The leg needs to be pinned. What I am worried about now is aikidomayland will say no, because of the cost, and want to have him put down.

I have to figure out what I have I can sell if needs be. I can't lose another pet this soon.

Loki isn't in any pain, better living through chemistry, so that is good.

Ahh Crap.... *hugz* I do hope that things will work out well. Kittens bounce back quick. Lets hope the Vet bill is lower that you expect it to be. *smiles*

Hey kiddo, good chance I won't be at archery tomorrow, as someone has to stay home and keep Loki calm and contained in one room. Wing will be picking you up at the usual time. About 9ish. But I will take some time off for lunch at Foo Gwai, as promised. :)

'mina had two broken legs and a pelvis when we found her, and we weren't sure if she was going to make it. The cost of resetting her legs was high, but it also sounded very painful and the vet said she might do better on her own. I couldn't afford to have her bones set anyway, so we prepared ourselves for the possibility of a crippled kitty.

After living in a carrier for two weeks, she started to limp, and then at three weeks she could stand on her own, and in a month or two she was limping around. Now you can't tell she ever had a thing wrong with her. She is the fastest cat in the house!

It is possible that it will heal crooked, but letting nature heal it is certainly better than putting him down.
