UKRAINIAN swim star Kateryna Zubkova believes the now-infamous fight with her father Mikhail at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne was all her fault.
The 19-year-old has told friends she "disobeyed" her father, who is also her coach, by continuing to see her boyfriend against his wishes.
Footage of father and daughter wrestling and arguing at the championships in Melbourne shocked the world, but Kateryna was devastated not to have her father poolside yesterday.
It was NOT her fault that her father/coach struck her. At 19 yrs of age, she is old enough to choose her own boyfriends. There is no instance where it is acceptable for him to have hit her. If she had been swinging on him, he would have been ok to restrain her, but under no circumstances was it 'her fault' that he hit her.
