A bit more about our performance at the Empress Court. The gentleman that hired us to help celebrate his 25th Wedding Aniversary, and his guests were very enthusiastic in their appreciation of our performance. That coupled with the fact that we did circulate afterwards, and chatted up the guests, and even put on a popular Alabina song and got them up to dance with us was icing on the cake.

Then four of us (one of us had an early morning business flight to catch) went out search for food. If you haven't seen how much dancers can put away after a performance, it might shock you to know we can put the average football player to shame.

We wandered into one pub, in full costume, minus the tassel belts (except for one of us who wore hers perhaps for warmth), and they were very regretful that their kitchen had already closed. So, off we went in search again. Two other restuarants were closed. Then we passed by this lovely Italian restaurant, Vino Vino. Their door was still open, so we decided to ask. We really didn't even get the chance to ask, the manager and one of his wait staff came out to the side walk to greet us, totally gobsmacked about our costumes. They loved them. We told them we had just gotten through with a performance and were in search of edibles. When we asked if they still were open for dinner, the manager, a very sweet man, said the kitchen was closed, but we could get a little something. Bruchetta (prounounced BruKetta we were informed by this delightful sir) and we were guided to a table.

We were treated like royalty, no joke. Instead of bruchetta, we were given menus, and said to order. Then we were asked if we would care for something to drink. A delicious white was provided. The two waitpersons were as sweet and polite as one could want. We dined on the most scrumptious pizzas made (more like fell into our food like a ravening horde, yes, we were that hungry) and sipped wine. When we left, they gave us compliments and called us "their princesses" After their wonderful service, we felt like princesses. (happy sigh)

I look forward to more good times like that.
