Isn't greed wonderful?
Nov. 29th, 2006 03:04 pm"Just because you buy a DVD to watch at home doesn't give you the right to invite friends over to watch it too. That's a violation of copyright and denies us the revenue that would be generated from DVD sales to your friends," said Glickman
The MPAA headed by Dan Glickman, wants Congress to pass new laws to allow them to regulate Home Theaters and monitor movie content in your own home using Biometrics. Even though you may buy a movie and invite friends over to watch it, the MPAA asserts that they have a right that they should know who's watching the DVD and to make sure that someone has paid the MPAA a viewing fee. Big Brother wants to know what you and your friends are watching tonight!
In case you don't know who Dan Glickman is, here's his biography:

Americans (and just wait... if this sort of BS happens with MPAA, the Aussie movie industry will follow) shouldn't stand for this sort of legalized extortion.
