David E. Taylor Federal Law Enforcement Officer obit.

Mr. David Edward Taylor of Wyoming Street, Warsaw died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was 76.

He was born January 23, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Robert E. and Gertrude A. Watkins Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was a lifetime resident of Warsaw and a 1947 graduate of Warsaw Central High School. He worked for over 20 years before retiring from the IRS and Treasury Department as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, specializing in Internal Affairs.

He was a long time member of Walter Kline Post No. 532 of the American Legion and served this country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 961 Quartermaster Service Company. He was a member of the Wyoming County Veterans Club and loved playing jazz piano. He was a hard worker and excellent father and friend. For enjoyment he spent much of his time watching murder mysteries.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his former wife, Celia Z. Mitchell of Erin, New York; two daughters, Gail Taylor of Westminster, Colorado and Angela Taylor of Warsaw; one son, Robert Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; two brothers, Ross M. Taylor of New York City and Marvin G. Taylor of Arlington, Virginia.

Calling hours will be held Mon., Oct. 23, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 North Main Street, Warsaw. An American Legion service will be conducted at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tue., Oct. 24at 10 a.m. with Deacon John Kelly of St. Michael's Church celebrating. Burial will take place in the Warsaw Cemetery following services.

Memorials may be made to the Wyoming County SPCA or to the donor's choice.
