Another Sunday, another archery session
Oct. 8th, 2006 04:53 pm'Twas a very good one, though.
Used the new leather glove today, and was amazed at the difference it made in overall shooting. I even 'killed' someones' arrow (he hit his own arrow, bent it, I took the 'guts' out of it by nailing it twice afterward), twice, and shot a nock off of one of my own.
Then there was the clout shoot, 100 meters (almost 110 yrds) distance. Once again a wheelie bow (compound bow) user had to make comments about how Wing and I were at some disadvantage, not using sites, and the 'low poundage' draw of our bows.
Last week this guy was telling me there was something wrong with my bow.
I looked it over and said "Huh? What?"
He said "No wheels."
I smiled sweetly and said "Oh, I outgrew training wheels a long time ago!"
So, Wing and I lined up for the clout. Not only did I score mostly 9's and 10's, the first two practice rounds I actually overshot the target area. So much for not being able to be accurate or even reaching the target area.
I made sure J was standing close to Mike when I crowed about my scores.
