Pics of Tao - Taiko Drum concert.
Aug. 27th, 2006 09:08 pmThey aren't the best pictures, but here they are. TAO - The Martial Art of Noise
Ah, I love it when a woman leads the pack. And wow could she slam those drums!

A Perfect Shiva with 8 drums.

A larger group of them. The more drummers, the more alive the rhythms become.

The stamina of this guy. After a solid 10 minutes of a duo (someone is behind the drum but can't be seen) he joined the group to play the next number.

Intense concentration, but what I couldn't get was pictures of the laughter and smiles.

Full compliment of drummers

Don't get me wrong, I loved the TaikOz concert, but these guys were better. Might have had something to do with TaikOz had to share the stage with the WASO, so we didn't get to see the full scope of their abilities.
I really loved (almost fell out of my seat laughing) when they did a Haka to taiko drums.. twice!
The concert was truly amazing. The music was alive, the flutes, the horns and the drums, and the drummers. Wow.
