Because I really need them.
Been sort of slacking off logging here, but I have been buried with chores/errands/gardening/web editing/assigned reading/teaching/workshop planning (yet another one!)/planning and executing dinner party.
*deeeeeeeeeep breath*
Went shopping for fabric and some hatpins. We actually managed to find 4" hatpins that don't accordian when you try to use them! And we have a steady supply of them now. Have to visit our bead supplier.
Dance class was bloody brilliant. We have discovered that if we don't tell the students "Oh this is a very hard move to learn", but just break it down and show them, they nail it. We don't just keep repeating the move over and over ad nauseum, halting and hiccuping through it until they get that glassy eyed look, but break it down, can clearly show it.
Some of Wings' aikido mates are professional dancers and have let us in on where we can get professional video done of us performing. I love hubby dearly, but he has the worst timing when it comes to close ups. I had itchy lip one time, and was discretely scritching it with my teeth and that is when he decided to do a close up of me. The vids are good for home use but... something a little sharper would be nice. They have also put us in touch with the professional dancing community. THAT will be the biggest boon to us.
Dinner party went quite well, soldered the insides of everyone quite nicely with the TexMex chile. Also served up some home made cornbread, which the Aussie locals treated like a gourmet treat. I smiled, said thanks, and didn't say I can almost make it with my eyes closed.
Dance practice today: It was Meegan and myself today, but we welcomed that. We nitpicked/dissected/analysed moves and then did them. We then practiced different zil patterns. I 'fessed up to Meegan that I have been drilling myself with the different rythyms. We were actually thinking about leaving early, when some women who looked through the window on the door just walked in 20 mins before our time was up. "Ohh we have the room booked for yoga at 2!"... Meegan informed them we had the room until then. "Oh but we set up before the teacher gets here."
Now, Meegan is the politest of ladies (and I mean lady) so she looked at me after the intruding women left, and said "We are NOT leaving early, get your zils back out"
So, we practiced and danced using zils for about 10 minutes, then started our cooling off. We were just packing up (still have 10 mins before its 2pm) when this same rude woman starts opening the divider between the rooms again! (she did same thing last week)
Meegan said "We're almost finished up" in a tone that told me "Get out until we are done please", but this rude woman just kept coming in saying they are "Used to setting up before the teacher comes in"... Meegan told this woman 4 times (yes, I counted) "Your teacher booked the room from 2 until 3:30. We have the room until 2." after that didn't sink in she suggested that she have her teacher book the room from 2:15 instead.
Then this rude woman starts ripping into the reception personel that she can't set up before the teacher gets there (was informed by them again her yoga class starts at 2, and setting up early is ok IF the room isn't currently occupied, but that goes in one ear and out the other), and the nice girl coming to remove the table we use for our stereo.
We actually actually ended up leaving 10 mins early and went up to the desk to console the attendants. They said the yoga students bad behavior wasn't our fault and if they have a problem with others renting the rooms, they can go elsewhere.
Came home, did some web editing. Just little things (and some not so little things) to give our website a bit more professionalism. Ran it by my friend Bryan who lives in the US. He is my beta tester. (chuckle). I thnk I have it set nicely now.
Did some we research into some music we are very interested in obtaining.
Relaxing now and catching up.
*takes another cleansing breath*
