aikidomayland called Grozer and had a nice talk with his assistant (Grozer doesn't' speak English so, she had to translate) and Grozer and she apologised profusely for the fubar. It seems this is the good news: the string guides are glued on, not carved of the wood itself, so can be reattached with strong epoxy (like the kind

aikidomayland uses to attach horn/bone nocks onto wooden arrows). I was also told that I can take it to the tourney, and if I have any other problems with it during the tourney, I can return it for an exchange, no questions asked.
