Dancing and gardening day!
Jan. 18th, 2004 11:43 amBetween dance class and home gardening, I wore myself out yesterday.
Julie suprised the beejeezus out of herself but playing zils AND dancing at the same time. I kind of snuck up to it gradually, and sprung it on her without her realising it until after it was a done deal.:) I told her "I will never ask you to do something I know you can't". She was great.
One the way home we stopped by a gardening shop and I picked up a huge back of potting mix. Then I unpotted the thyme/sage plants that had grown so danged fast they filled the huge pot, used square edged spade to chop em apart, and repotted them. Transplanted honeysuckle, and have it threaded through the security screen, right next to the 'quickly it's grown' jasmine plant. Going to keep them in pots, rather than subject them to the poor Australian soil.
Didn't forget my furry friends... got a small can nip plant and have that in its own large pot.:) Keito seems a bit iffy about the sprig I offered him, but Affy spent an hour licking the rug.
Going to have to get another bag of soil mix for the herb/veggie garden. That and some mulch to keep the evaporation down to a minimum.
After I got done with all the gardening work, I wasn't stinky... I was STANKY! Peeled and headed to the shower. I should have dumped the dirty choli, and dance tights into the washing machine, because they were rank, or as Meegan said "Dead cat smell?", to which I replied "Wet dead cat smell." Blech!
But now, I have this lovely row of pots with green in them! Two basil plants, (one is Meegans, I rescued it from dying over at her place, and my Basil shrub!) a thyme plant, a sage plant, cat nip, two honeysuckles and a jasmine. It smells so nice when you walk by them. Luckily for me, I know how to dry herbs. :)
