anysiaIt's amazing how many movies/shows/books were made depicting the "Wild West" days, considering it was one of the shortest stretches of US History (about 20 yrs).
Deadwood, though 'fiction' is based on the historical town of Deadwood. (thanx to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
roya_spirit for the link). Yes, some of the characters are composite characters, but others are of historical fact. Like Bill Hickok being shot playing poker in the Deadwood saloon.
The language is rough, and the some of the scenes harsh, but damn is it a good series. Pity there will be no season 4. *sigh*
