When I got my bracelet back, since Tam not only replaced the missing garnet, he polished it up to 'new' appearance, it made all my other 'crown jewels' look a bit grungy.
3 cups of boiling water, 1 cup of baking soda, one sheet of aluminum foil, one shallow pan. Put sheet of foil in pan, place all pieces of jewelry on it, boil the water, dissolve baking soda into the water, pour over jewelry. Let sit for a few minutes or until the water is cool (depending on how tarnished said pieces of jewelry are) rinse, wipe dry and your bling is a BLING as it was when you first got it.
