Again with the can't sleep. This time, instead of pain shooting down back of leg if I have been sitting in low chair then get up or do 'body wave' dance move, I have continuous pain from small of back straight to the heel of the foot. Poor [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland tried to talk to me while I was making some pain induced animal noises. Now that I am sort of awake, and in partial control, I think I might take him up on offer for "After hours clinic" aka Emergency room.

Thats Sciatica. Get a referral to another physical therapist and get a second opinion. And or get Xrays to check the spine - pain in the foot could be referred from the lumbar/sacral region of the back and affect the sciatic nerve.

Sorry, Qualified massage therapist here.....

Close, but not quite.

Actually, it's not Sciatica.. I have a slipped disc, and need to have it fixed.

Thank you though, for posting... appreciated.

I don't normally post anymore but I know that Anysia has a lot of online buddies that care about her. The diagnosis is a ruptured disk and we are hopeful that surgery will be the cure. She has been admitted to hospital and she is going to be out of action (not posting) for a few days but she is on pain medication that is making it bearable. I will pass on all of your thoughts to her and she would be pleased to receive any well wishes. In fact I think it would be a great comfort to her knowing that her online buddies are thinking of her.

If you want to post get well messages (...please do :) ) I will be checking this thread on a regular basis and passing them on to her.

I've been through back surgery and have the titanium cage to proove it. The post surgery phase is very, very tough. I remember feeling like my body would split open if I had to roll over on my side and you MUST roll over. Have someone stay with her through the first couple of nights. Nursing staff can't meet the needs. There are just too few nurses to patients.

The younger you are the faster the recovery. She will be in my prayers.

Thanx dude
