Went to SCA "Siege Engine Event". Had two trebuchets and several archers ([livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland and myself included) Got to schmooze with the Baron and Baroness..AND I met up with an SCA dance mistress who will be willing to bring music and teach dances for the masquerade! Some tricky dances early for the more enthusiastic, and teach simple ones during the masquerade. (Hey my SwanCon friends/cohorts, it's a darned good thing I have APRA licence. :D ) Next step, getting the decorations for the night.

Back to the archery, I did pretty good, but I am so used to shooting at the FETA targets ( targets up on A-Frames) and shooting at the propped-on-the-ground targets was really tricky. I must boast a bit, I got the best shooting scores at 40 yards. Really stunk at the 30 yd, and did ok at the 20.

Even with sunscreen and widebrimmed straw hat I managed to get a bit of sunburn. Mostly on my hands (thats what I get for being neat and tidy washing the dirt along with the sunscreen off my hands)

Came home, showered, rested up a bit, and took JinHee out to dinner. Walked around Perth and Northbridge. JinHee brought me Honey Maid Graham crackers from Canada. Must make cheesecake. :9

Got a few pictures of archery event, will download them later. Snneeeeep now. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Rhiannen or Naomi?

Neither.. Catherine.

As for that, I wasn't told, and have been busting my backside to get proper dance instructor. Told "Generalissimo Ken", he will pass info along at meeting, as my allergies are still in overdrive at this time and am still recovering.

(Ken Siezes Mel's Lj)Um.. Things have been chaotic.. If this gets anywhere near the attendance I am expecting, No one person will want to handle it all on their own.. Possibly could you tee up a meet and coordinate together?

hmmm that's be more than ... interesting.

Catherine and I get on like ... not at all. I'm sad to say that of the few people I'd say I could not work with, all of them are involved with the SCA. I'm sorry :(

Since the meetings always seem to fall on days/nights I have a dance class to teach or a performance, I missed the meeting where JP was in charge of the dance instruction. Big problem,I have no idea where people live, have no transport, and am not familiar enough (or confident enough) to rely on the busses. I had no problem instructing dances, but wanted some of the local SCA flavor, rather than East Kindom dances. Told Chris that about 3 months ago at impromptu meeting approx 3 weeks before the 'weeping red curtain' decended upon my eyes.

Also,if anything had been mailed out the past 5 or so weeks, I would not have been able to read it anyhow.

could we perhaps have display dancing - SCA do their stuff and you and jasper teach the fans in the workshop - then we all win?
