Education takes a huge step backwards
Nov. 9th, 2005 12:28 pm Kansas school board redefines science
The 6-4 vote was a victory for "intelligent design" advocates who helped draft the standards. Intelligent design holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power.
By a 6 to 4 vote, the heavily Republican school board voted to have Intelligent Design as an approved new public school science standard. All I can say is thank goodness none of my kids are stuck in Kansas. There is proof of evolution, where is the proof of I.D.? Just because a group of the loudest says it's so, doesn't make it real. But they can force it to be taught as a real science. What is it with the GOP and science? Friggin' backwater (no matter where they live), ignornant, phobic fuqheads.
