Life Lesson: When you hair is over 3ft long, make sure all the pinky finger sized braids done for performance are undone before washing your hair. Keristing hell,it took 15 minutes to untangle/unbraid the damn thing afterwards!

Only 15 minutes? You're doing well!

Definite upside of losing a foot of hair: brushing out all the knots after several days of not-brushing has gone from close to an hour to under ten minutes.

Only because when I washed it, I also used conditioner. Helped prevent me from ripping it apart.

A decent conditioner is vital :)

Do you know any good spray-on detanglers? I used to use Aussie Hair Conditioner, but have yet to find anyone in Perth who stocks it.

there are two spray on detanglers I know of , the kidie one by Johnson and Johnson and another one that I don't know the name of .

The kidie one works ok but no idea of the other one , the adult one is harder to find in shops but they always have the kids one.

It's in the normal shampoo section of the shop(eg coles or action).

I can relate all too well to tangled hair , my hair is fine and thick , bloody genetics(thanks mum and dad*frown*)

Thanks, I'll give it a try sometime.

I'm happy with my genetics on the hair front - a lot of people can't grow hair this long :)

First you show me photos of this foreign woman with a turban and a load of head decorations, then you show me a picture of another woman with a real head of hair. I'm feeling like I stumbled across on of the e-mail order bride sites 8-)

Having help care for several headfuls of hair, back in my youth, I can appreciate the work that goes into keeping such in good shape, even without the braiding. The 15 minutes of post-washing work doesn't sound all that much, I've seen worse (and there was the time my sister got her hair entangled in an electric mixer's beaters)

So the earlier photos were pre-performance? It's looking like you rather enjoy this, getting to play with shiny stuff even though an adult, even though there's also a lot of work that goes along with it.

Funny you should say that..I am email order bride(sort of, after a long distance courtship for over 4 yrs, and now married for 5)

Yup,they were pre-preformance. Getting to play the the shiney stuff brings out the magpie in me. :D

Forgot to mention, that was 15 minutes on a section as thin as my pinky and about 7 inches long. It looked like a moebius loop when I started.

Ouch! I have no idea how long 3 ft is, but I can tell from your usericon that it must be pretty long. I wish I had such beautiful hair *envious* ;)

It's darned close to a meter long. That picture was taken between 18 and 24 months ago, and it's gotten longer since.

WOW! I wish my hair was half a metre long, let alone about a metre! Unfortunately my hair is fine and limp, and the longer I grow it, the more it looks like spaghetti.

Yeah, because luckily I used hair conditioner after I washed it, or else I think I might have ended up using scissors.
