But when Mal protects his own, he will stop at nothing to make sure they make it. Like dumping that guy for the Reavers, but then shooting him so he wouldn't suffer.
River the Reaving Reaver Cleaver. And the reason there are/were Reavers.
A few people were upset at some deaths, but I did comment (as much as one of them made me want to say Nooooooooooooooooooooooo ) that you can't go into a battle as bloody as this an not expect casualties.
Kaylees description of her love life was absolutely hillarious. Loved the T.M.I. look on Wash and Mals faces, and Jayne saying "I could listen to some more of this". And at the great Reaver battle, Simon finally confessing to his attraction to her and her saying "you mean sex?", she grins and turns into Rambo-babe with reason to LIVE!
I kind of expected Book to die, as even in the series,he seemed to have a karmic debt he was trying to avoid. Never know exactly who he was in his pre-shepherd life, but you knew it was something he was repenting.
Wash.. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!! BUT he did save everyone on the ship first. So sudden too. Thought Zoe was going to suicide fight the Reavers, but Jaynes elegant "Get your ass BACK here!" was most moving.
These are just some of the highlights. And yes, when this comes out in DVD, it will join the Firefly collection.
I was worried at first that the wonderful writing style would have been watered down, but it wasn't.

You should have seen me when Tara was killed off on Buffy - I cried bucketloads.
