I was taking some vid of Venus tonight, through a violet filter, lowered the exposure etc etc and I still get a slight 'starburst' of light around it.

Got some great vid of Jupiter, through blue filter. Stacked image came out nicely. I think I will keep practicing with the converted webcam for some time yet.

Asked for some advice from the astronomy groups on getting rid of the starburst around Venus.

And with the new eq mount and dual axis motor drive, the pictures are getting sharper too. :) Hoping to get the upcoming Jupiter/Venus conjunction.

I get the southern polar alignment fairly quickly every time. I have to sort of guesstimate exactly where Octanis is as its just below our roof level. I have managed to get it within a few 'seconds' of correct positioning.
