IE is only the most popular because it tends to come preinstalled on all PCs sold with Windows.  That's my view on it.

Mozilla (Application Suite, also known as SeaMonkey) is a complete suite of web related applications, such as a browser, a mail/news client, a chat client and much more. Firefox is just a browser, which makes it a better choice if you already have a mail client for example. Also, since Firefox is smaller than the whole Mozilla suite, it's faster and easier to use.

Firefox is not the standalone Mozilla browser. The user interface in Firefox differs from Mozilla in many ways. For example, Firefox has customizable toolbars.

Awesome! I just installed it...and am about to uninstall Mozilla!

Playing with the settings. I like the ability to add custom toolbars...

As long as it lets me block popups...and it does...it's cool! =)

Pop up blocking is just the start. You can install small addon called Extensions. If you like popup blocking, then I suggest getting AdBlock. It can block banner ads, skycraper ads, shockwave ads, and all those annoying LOOKIT ME ads some websites load their pages with. IEView, and Launchy is a good one for viewing certain webpages that are built with MS Frontpage. There is also the Live Journal extension called Deepest Sender.

Read through the extensions and pick and choose what you would like to use. That is one of the good things about FireFox, it's user configurable.
