The Benefits of idleness in small doses
Nov. 29th, 2004 05:53 pmAfter todays performance, and micro pillage (damn we go through a lot of make up, especially foundation) came home, and did next to nothing. Did a quick load of laundry, perused the photographs Wing took at Armadale yesterday (15 usable out of over 70.... thank goodness for digital photography and I have yet to check out the video), then just kicked back and relaxed.
Decided to brew a pot of coffee, and break out a DVD and just prop my feet up for a while. I selected "The Fifth Element" for the laughter factor. It's amazing what you miss watching/hearing it on the TV. I have gotten a few extra chuckles because of listening to it with headphones.
_meegan_ went through our finances and it seems we can pretty much blanket the area with adverts. We already have plans to put a big ad in local paper, but seems we can afford another ad in a different newspaper and a magazine too. And the good side to this is we are building a pool of capable dancers. We have 5 of varying abilities who would do well at different venues. Since we tend to perform for an hour or more, we all aren't always up there. (point in fact, my tassel belt became untied yesterday, and I had to back out of the formation. We have a motto "It's not a performance unless something drops off.")
The Arts festival yesterday was so much fun. We completely glamored and wowed them, with all of our dance sets. It was amazing to see how many jaws dropped open and stayed that way when we did the sword dances. Going to keep that in as a regular dance set.
I feel such a sense of accomplishment today. We have come so far since last year, and we have learned and improved, and all it can do is keep getting better. :)
