Ok, this is a hot button topic but hey since when am I one to sit out and say nothing because of that?

The US led attempt to have the UN ban cloning has fallen apart. This is actually a good thing. I, one among many, would love to see alzheimers, parkinsons, diabetes, the need for organ transplants, and a host of other debilitation diseases cured or vanished. Using 'leftover' (for want of better word) embryos from fertility clinics/treatment, embryos that would be discarded/destroyed is a case of no harm no foul.

Many people (I have had the misfortune of actually speaking to a few of them) think Mr. Jones v2 when they hear the word cloning. I have actually said "Dude, get your head out of "The 6th Day" and other movies, k?" I find it a bit ludicrious, and hypocritical, that some of the religious right, the same ones that don't 'approve' of in virto fertilisation as it's not truly creating a life (if you don't snog, boff, fuck, make love, then its not truly a life. No joke,I saw some of this food group on a news program), get all up in arms about using to be discarded embryos to be cloned for stemcells. News flash, oh Over Zealous ones, that is called trying to butter both sides of your bread.
