Covered a lot of ground today. Luckily, from when I was Silva and Tims' student, I learned how to break down a dance move to its' 'modular' parts, and feel free to use props and other items for teaching aids. Both J and B got the shoulder shimmy down pat because of this, after one lesson. Now, it's a matter of building up the endurance and strength. Also started them on torso isolation movements. They both said they liked how I broke things down, instead of just showing a move over and over and over. You can show a move a thousand times, but if you don't explain HOW it's done, all you have done is waste time, and frustrate the students. I also ask students if they have any physical problems that might limit movements or cause discomfort, and find work arounds for them.

Told them about the new place, and they are thrilled. We start there next Saturday. Will be getting mirrors for my sunken lounge room, so we will have a back up place to practice. (ie if the place is closed for holidays) Also, I will never again be blindsided. ST:TOS quote "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"... and "you only allow a dog one bite".

The grass is green, the sun is warm, and life is good. :)
