I saw the scare mongering on the news, different stations, and different websources, about how flights were in danger of exploding batteries. Ya know, the media should really check their sources before screaming "The Sky is falling!".

This is the real story about it below:

Dell recalls 4.1 million batteries

Yes, a HANDFUL (6 out of 4.1 million) of Dell laptop batteries have overheated and caused property damage, and no, I repeat no injuries or damage to airplanes.

So, instead of just reporting the Dell recall, the talking heads take this opportunity to inflate the danger to any and all battery operated items will cause planes to fall.

Now I know TV and News sources survive on ratings and viewing audience numbers, but they really need to do so responsibly. People doing this sort of 'reporting' should be held accountable.

Took a walk down to the Kardinya shopping center. My black sapphire ring.. well, I had it resized just before my fateful trip to the ER at the tail end of February, and we know how that worked out. I had thought the ring was a bit snug, but chalked that up to warm summery weather. It was off for a few weeks after the surgery, so when I put it back on, I didn't think much of it.

I had noticed the setting would dig into the front of my finger, and after a while, I noticed deep grooves on the side of my finger. When they began to bleed, I knew it had to come off. I tried taking it off, and it just would not move. I was very tempted to get metal snips and just cut it off. But I did manage to 'unscrew' it from my finger with generous amounts of moisturiser. And this was when it was a cold day! Took it to Tam, and he agreed, it hadn't been properly resized. Have to go back next week after the swelling in my finger goes down, for a proper fitting.

Got bubble envelope to mail a little something off. Also got some boring, mundane house supplies.

The trip back.. nnngh. Medial tendons in right leg are twitching and screaming. Hip hurts like a sumabidge. Very tired now. My thanks to Alan for accompanying me on the jaunt.
