Good news: our bows from Grozier have arrived in time for the archery tournament in September!

Good News: [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland's bow is fine.

Bad news: Mine is &$^%#%$#! DAMAGED! And since they were custom made in Netherlands, ordered last October, there is no way he could make one, and get it to me before the tournament!

Surprisingly, the zils I ordered just a week ago, have already arrived. Between making crocheted hair nets (no, not snoods, these are for long braids, to hold them in a nice bun) and practicing zils, I am in better spirits.

[livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland emailed Grozer and told him point blank to send me a new bow, the proper color (yeah, forgot to mention this, but I ordered blue leather, and it's pitch black) and with the string bridges intact, by Aug 25th. When we get the new bow, then we will send the damaged one back.

I'll hope. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland called Grozer and had a nice talk with his assistant (Grozer doesn't' speak English so, she had to translate) and Grozer and she apologised profusely for the fubar. It seems this is the good news: the string guides are glued on, not carved of the wood itself, so can be reattached with strong epoxy (like the kind [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland uses to attach horn/bone nocks onto wooden arrows). I was also told that I can take it to the tourney, and if I have any other problems with it during the tourney, I can return it for an exchange, no questions asked.

Pictures of bows, unstrung. They are large images. Need to view in new window, as they will be scaled down )
