I have been trying different photo editing programs to enhance dim shots, or overexposed ones.  I have found no signifcant difference between using my old PaintShop Pro, PhotoShop, or Lview. (with the exception I am a helluva lot more familiar with PSP, as I have been using it since its' days of ver 2.)

I have found out (stupid me should have checked it yesterday) today that the eyepiece filters do fit into the webcam/ccd adapter. No more overexposed jupiter shots! of course I will have to do composite work to show the moons with it, but as some of my friends know, I put my graphic arts abilities to good use.

Yesterdays dance class was brutally wonderful.  :) Really hammered away at techinque. (S and B knows how that feels!) Our most senior student, in years that is, has some trouble with the dance moves,  but you know, I could care less if she gets the technique exactly right. Her attitude, and enjoyment are what is important. I hope when I am pushing 80, I am that energetic.

And I did manage to bag a few.  My old Kodak 3200...well the door catch for the battery compartment was gone (design flaw as [livejournal.com profile] _meegan's has the same problem) and th Kodak company wanted to charge me $45 just to send it in. Huh?  Yeah right, so, I used a piece of grey ducttape and a very strong hair tie to keep the door closed.  *shrug* Works well enough, I guess.

Back to the bargain hunt.

Headed into my fave tech/nerd store (would love to have unlimited credit and 10 minutes in there.. maybe 20) to get a new DSL line filter (turns out you can daisy chain em if one doesn't filter well enough) and as I got to discussing my McGuyvering of one of their webcams into a ccd. Told em it was a success, but I wanted larger image, so I would be getting the 640x480 resolution webcam.  While checking out, I was asked if I knew about Kodak 3200, and I said yes, and mentioned the above story about the battery door, and I was offered it for the horrible price of..(wait for it)... $10. SOLD

Got a flash card for it too, as all three of the laptops here don't have serial ports, but can use the card reader I got at same geek/nerd store. (aka, MY home away from Home!)

Emailed to me, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] zeovermind, as he said, a bit early.

Might be worksafe but let's not chance it. )

I ran several avi files through IRIS, and then went through them and picked out the best images I could find (yes, my eyes are crossing) and loaded them into Registax. After using Unsharp mask and other tools with PSP, I have managed to get this stacked image of Jupiter and 3 of it's moons.
