Some people should know that a 'larger, nicer' person did hold me back. Too bad they don't have her scruples too.

A funny coincidence

I am an archery fan/buff... A few years ago husband and I went out shooting with rental gear, then decided after a while we would get our own equpiment.

After looking through several racks, I spotted this beautiful recurve. It wasn't pretty, as it looked as if it had been shoved in the back, neglected and unnoticed. There was some wear spots on the finish, but other than that, it was fine.

I strung it, and drew a few practice shots. It was a sweet bow.

The funny thing is this: I looked at the name/brand of the recurve, and that clinched it. This bendy stick was mine.

Bought it, had it professionally refinished. The bowyer said it was at least 20 yrs old, because they weren't made anymore.

The Moral of this story:

My bow is a Wing

My beau is Wing.

And they are both mine. ;)

Toga!

I got the fabric for the togas for the upcoming party. I got a nice deep blue for Wing, and a rusty reddish one for me. I am really looking forward wrapping hubby up like a human burrito. (snicker) I got some cotton tape to do some elaborate cross tieing on the top of my toga. I plan to make mine along the lines of a grecian or bog gown. (Thank you Margali, for showing me how that is made!)
