Flexible schedules
Sep. 16th, 2004 09:24 amGoing pillaging today, since this past Tuesday was supposed to be the workshop/dance demo, but was rescheduled due to the flu.
Dance class last night was good. Had a new drop in student and as much as I like having more students, it's a bit tiresome to have to wind everything back to day one over and over. I think we are going to tell the ladies to stop inviting their friends this far into the term, as it's slowing their progress.
Scheduled many workshops with them (Zil workshop, tasselbelt workshop, and costume). Might have to do repeats of a few of those. Ordered the zils yesterday, and they are on their way. Yippy.:)
Performance tonight. Bringing two of our senior students. Should be fun. Had a sideways comment from one of our intermediate students about her peering in through the window, but hey if she would have listened and stopped flouncing in tribal class, she would have been invited too. She likes to show off how fast she can play her zils and dance Egyptian style, which is well and good, but NOT in ATS class, or during ATS performances. Until she gets a bit of self discipline, she will only do student performances and salons. We have enough students that this method is feasible.. might seem bitchy, but when we are out there professionally, we need to have cohesivness, not one of us out there dancing freestyle.
