P.T.Barnum was right
Jul. 30th, 2004 12:34 pmI can't believe how many women (and some men too) still think that there is some mystical magical cream/lotion that will get rid of stretch marks. They can't get their heads around that it is scarred skin and the only thing that would remove it is surgical methods. Yes, they will go from dark bruised looking to faded marks, but they will NOT, I repeat NOT disappear. No Go POOF!
I get annoyed at cosmetic sales people (and people that have been suckered in and feel they have to pass the myths along) that spew their rhetoric on how THEIR stretch mark cream is the only one that works, and that the rest of them are fakes. They are all fakes. The people hawking them are modern "Snake Oil Salesmen". I will say over and over again, the products claiming they fade stretchmarks produce a placebo effect. If you want to see an improvement, you will.

Date: 2004-07-30 06:13 pm (UTC)But I had to rant about the "My brand of cream can remove stretch marks". Nothing, short of genetics will prevent them, and I get tired of that AVON sales lady, and other dupes pitching their wares.
